Mount Rinjani & Beautiful Beaches
Lombok is still waiting to be discovered, and with our Lombok tour package, you really need a bit of getting up and go. After landing on the ground you will be met by your guide, and when you travel north to the base of Mount Rinjani and a small village called Tetebatu. Once here you have a day to settle into your new humble surroundings. The area around Tetebatu is a traditional artisan’s dream, and you will get the opportunity to interact with the locals of three villages and admire their fabulous skills.
Our Lombok tour then takes you onto Pringgasela, famous for its scarf weaving, you will take a walk through the village, watch locals make the scarfs, as well as seeing how they dye the yarn before weaving on a traditional loom. Next, in Masbagik you will meet a local family, who has been making and decorating pots for years. Your last stop is the village of Loyok, where you will meet another family that has been weaving baskets since 1975.
Having got a feel of the region your trek to Rinjani begins. The trek is not for everyone as in places it is pretty hard going. Take everything you need with you and there will be porters to help you carry your food and tents. Most treks to Rinjani start on the North of the mountain, but, being different, ours start in the South. The difference being fewer people and a lot less rubbish as people do unfortunately tend to litter. But on our treks everything you take up, you bring back down with you.
After 3 days and 2 nights on the mountain you get to take in breath-taking views, swim in the Segara Anak Lake, as well as concurring the impressive mountain submit, which is a huge sense of achievement. After your accomplishment, you start the descent, and by the end of the day end up back in Tetebatu for a much-needed rest and dinner. So from here, the active adventure is over and you have your final 3 days to enjoy on Lombok’s south coast beaches. For families we recommend Kuta, but if you are after the most romantic and spectacular white sandy beaches then Selong is the place for you to unwind and take in your stunning millionaire surroundings.
