Island Hopping in Myanmar
If sailing, island hopping and a holiday on water is your thing, then nothing beats 5 days of sailing off the Burmese coast hopping from island to island, sandwiched in between two nights in Yangon. This tour offers you everything and more from time on white sandy beaches, to marine life and various activities on water.
Your sailing adventure starts in Yangon before taking a flight to the quaint seaside town of Myeik. Once there you will spend the day observing the local industries that revolve around the sea, such as local fishing techniques, pearl farming as well as rubber and coconut production. You then board your boat for your first meal onboard, ready for your 5 days on the open sea.
Once you set sail you will discover various picturesque islands, some that have names, but the others only numbers. Each time you stop there will be something special to see or do; from taking out the sea kayaks to snorkelling in the shallow coral reefs that are teeming with fish and underwater activity. On previous cruises, there have also been dolphin and Nurse shark sightings, which are simply wonderful to experience as they come close to your boat.
Alternatively, if relaxation and getting a tan is your thing, then you can simply lay back on deck and do nothing and then when you come close to an Island you can swim or take a kayak to shore. Once on land, you can do more of the same, lie back, dig your feet in the soft white sand and sit back and relax. But, if you do find some energy, you can either save it for your return to Yangon, where you will visit the incredible Shwedagon Pagoda, or there will be some opportunities to explore some of the islands further on an island jungle trek.
