Angkor Temples & Gulf of Thailand
A chance to visit two of the must-see sites of Cambodia before relaxing on the beautiful island of Koh Chang. Spend time at the magnificent temples of Angkor Wat in Siem Reap as well as the floating village communities on Tonle Sap Lake, both are highlights of any trip to this part of the world before discovering the beautiful island of Koh Chang.
Our programme starts in Siem Reap, where you will be given the very best of tours around Angkor Wat. Beginning the day at Ta Prohm temple you will see how it has been exposed to the elements and how it has almost been taken back by nature. This is also where Tomb Raider was filmed. After this, you will continue to Angkor Thom to see the fantastic sites, such as the Terrace of the Leper King, the Terrace of Elephants and the Baphoun Temple. Following lunch, you will head to Bayon Temple before finishing the day at the most magnificent Angkor Wat.
Just outside of Siem Reap you will be taken to Tonle Sap Lake to visit an unspoilt floating community called Kampong Phluk. This trip takes you on a boat to visit an island pagoda, school and houses standing on 8 or 10m high stilts, fish farms and learn about the village life. You will then take a rowing boat and venture beyond the villages into the flooded forest before returning back to town.
After your time in Cambodia you then catch a flight to Thailand’s capital Bangkok and then an internal flight to Koh Chang Island. On the island, you are left to your own devices, but the island is the perfect place to unwind and end your holiday making sure you are fully rejuvenated before returning home.
