Asia – The perfect family holiday destination

Asia is rapidly becoming the new destination for families and the age of the children visiting the country seems to be getting younger. I think the main reason for this is that Asia simply has so much to offer to each different type of tourist and only recently have visitors become aware of the area’s full potential.

From pottery, dune buggies, quad bikes, horse riding, mountain biking, cookery lessons and helicopter rides, to name just a few child friendly activities. As well as the educational angle a holiday to Asia can offer. For example, we have perhaps all as children visited a national trust stately home or castle in our time, but when did you ever as a child get to visit anything as exciting as the temple complex of Angkor Archaeological Park. I find it hard to believe that any child would not love the adventure of exploring the vast temples and getting up close to the temples. A far cry away from standing behind the ropes at ‘Stonehenge’ on a cold winter’s day.

The main thing about choosing a family holiday is trying to get the balance right, by creating an element of fun and excitement for your children as well as having a variety of activities for the whole family. We all know that keeping the family occupied for a weekend is hard enough but to be sitting at home planning this year’s get away and thinking of how to keep the family interested this year does get a little stressful.
